Deanston have descried their 18 year old bottling as an "amplified" expression of their entry level 12 year old. The means more fudge, more ginger and more dry, woody spice. Fans of this light but spicy malt won't be disappointed.
Staff Tasting Notes
Nose – Freshly sawn light wood still with a touch of sap. Icing sugar leading to a cakey spice. A touch of sherbet. Maybe a drop of Worcestershire sauce on a barley sugar sweetie.
Palate – Sugar water moving to a bitter woodiness. Something herbal binds into the woodiness. Dries out the mouth with freshly cut sawdust.
