Description

A fantastic 1979 Honda CBX1000, finished in the highly desirable Candy Red colour scheme and presented in excellent overall condition. With its legendary six-cylinder engine, unmistakable sound and late-1970s styling, the CBX remains one of Honda’s most iconic motorcycles.

This example shows just under 20,000 miles and appears to be in largely correct and original condition. It also retains its fully original exhaust system from new, complete with the correct Honda factory stampings, which is a particularly desirable feature.

The paintwork has been professionally resprayed recently and presents exceptionally well, while the wheels, metalwork, chrome and brightwork are all in fantastic condition.

This is a Canadian-market import and was brought into the UK in 2022. After import, the carburettors were sent to a specialist CBX technician for a comprehensive overhaul, supported by a £1,200 specialist invoice.

Recent work included stripping, cleaning, rebuilding and balancing the six carburettors, fitting a full rebuild kit, cleaning the fuel tank, repairing the fuel tap, fitting an inline fuel filter, and changing the oil, filter, brake fluid and spark plugs.

The bike has also recently been checked over and serviced. It starts readily and runs very sweetly, delivering the smooth, turbine-like character that made the CBX famous.
