Description
TORMORE 29 YEAR OLD – GORDON & MACPHAIL
A seriously impressive 29-year-old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled by the legendary Gordon & MacPhail as part of its renowned Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength collection.
Distilled at Tormore in 1993, this exceptional whisky spent almost three decades maturing in a single first-fill Sherry butt, before being bottled in 2022 at a powerful natural 54.5% ABV. Just 554 bottles were produced from Cask No. 5053.
Expect a huge, beautifully mature Sherry-driven profile, opening with aromas of stewed red berries, vanilla, cocoa, Medjool dates, treacle and aniseed, before developing into rich layers of baked apple, cinnamon, ginger, dark chocolate, orange zest and charred oak.
With nearly three decades of maturation, single-cask provenance and an extremely limited outturn, this is the kind of old-school Speyside bottling that doesn’t come around often — a proper collector’s dram from one of Scotland’s most respected independent bottlers.
