Produced briefly between 1997 and 1998, the Fender California Series Stratocaster is a cult-favorite “US/Mexico hybrid” workhorse. The bodies and necks were carved in Corona, California, shipped to Ensenada, Mexico for painting, and sent back to Corona for final assembly with US vintage hardware and Tex-Mex pickups. The result is a Made-in-USA neck-stamped Strat that blends 1950s aesthetic details with player-friendly modern upgrades like a 9.5″ fretboard radius and medium-jumbo frets.
