Officially known as the “Smock Drab”, this style of overhead smock was worn by British troops during WWII and became particularly associated with men of the SAS and LRDG in North Africa.

The design continued to see use after WWII, including in Oman and Arabia, and the classic smock remained recognisable decades later … even appearing during the Gulf War era.

This reproduction is manufactured from heavy Khaki Drill fabric, similar to that used for British KD trousers and bush jackets, and recreates the simple, practical design that made the original such a distinctive piece of British military clothing.
