Brought from the Hamilton collection this was owned and commissioned by Anthony Hamilton (Lewis Hamiltons dad).

A fully restored Austin Mini 970 Cooper S. The RAREST production Mini Cooper ever made! They only made 963 970 S's in total in June 1964 and April 1965. Austin made up 393 of these for the UK market, these are also the MOST valuable of the Cooper S's. Hamilton is 130 off of the production line.

Produced on the 25th November 1964 and dispatched on the 7th December to H A Saunders in Worcester. Registered to his first owner on the 10th August 1965. Just 7 owners in his lifetime.

This is a true collectors grade example. He's been through a total restoration by a specialist a number of years ago. There was an awful lot of original metal work retained during the restoration. The decision was made very early on to go with originality. So stunning Surf Blue paint with a contrasting White roof was the chosen finish (the best Mini colour in my mind) I absolutely love the look of the 10 steel reverse rim wheels in Old English White, they are just the right wheel for the Cooper S's.

Under the bonnet sits his original 970cc engine & gearbox. This was fully rebuilt along with the gearbox to factory spec. These were produced as a Homologation special for circuit racing in the under 1000cc class of the BSCC. Specialist short stroke engine produces 65 bhp. AEG 163 head and forged rockers are some of the very special features of the 970s.

Internally we have all new or original refurbished everything, his original seat frames were stripped, restored and re trimmed in stunning Powder Blue/Gold Brocade Grey vinyl trim. All new matching door cards and trims were ordered. Newton Commercial Blue carpets. Original clocks, steering wheel, heater and switch panel are all retained.
