Description

Our 2001 MG F Trophy 160 is finished in Trophy Yellow and was first registered on 22nd December 2001. It is one of 1,430 Trophy 160s built worldwide, of which 694 were yellow.

The Trophy was the most powerful production version of the MG F. Its 1.8-litre K-series VVC engine produced around 158 bhp, with a five-speed manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels. The engine sits behind the seats, giving this small, two-seat convertible its mid-engined layout.

MG made several other changes for the Trophy. These included larger AP Racing front brakes, firmer Hydragas suspension with a 20 mm lower ride height, and 16-inch multispoke alloy wheels. A front spoiler, rear wing and black headlamp surrounds gave it a different appearance from the standard car.

The yellow continues inside, across the centre console, door trims and sections of the steering wheel. The black leather and patterned fabric seats carry Trophy 160 lettering.

Between 2014 and 2021, it covered just over 2,200 miles. Over the following four years, it travelled another 13,204 miles. Its previous owner was an MG Owners Club member and took the car to motoring events in continental Europe.

Its timing belt, coolant pump and head gasket were all replaced in 2025 when the car also had an engine service.
