Description

Our 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is part of the 996-generation 911. It is finished in Cobalt Blue Metallic with a Metropole Blue hood and Metropole Blue full leather interior. Supplied new through Porsche Cars Great Britain, the car is accompanied by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its original specification, build details, engine number, transmission number, colour combination and factory options.

Built on 6th November 2000 and first registered on 24th November 2000, the car is a 2001 model-year 996 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. It is powered by Porsche’s 3.4-litre M96 flat-six engine, paired with the Tiptronic S automatic gearbox.

The factory specification includes Tiptronic S, Porsche Stability Management, headlight cleaning, three-spoke airbag steering wheel, heated seats, electric front seats, soft ruffled leather, sound system, wind deflector, top-tinted windscreen, CD preparation, coloured wheel centres, 18-inch Sport Design wheels, silver rear centre console, and aluminium/stainless steel/chrome interior trim details.

It comes with an extensive history file showing long-term maintenance across Porsche main dealers and independent Porsche specialists. Earlier records include invoices from Porsche Centre Solihull, Porsche Centre Bolton, Porsche Centre Wilmslow, Autohaus Werkshoppe, Jasmine Porschalink, PIE Performance, and Reason Porsche.

Also in the history file are the documents relating to an engine rebuild carried out by PIE Performance in 2019. At this time, the engine received an IMS replacement and complete rebuild. The invoice also shows major internal work, including bearing shells, timing chains, chain guides, piston rings, gaskets, seals, and oil system components.

Since that rebuild, the car has covered only around 5,500 miles, with follow-up maintenance recorded. PIE Performance carried out post-rebuild and run-in related servicing, and later invoices show continued care including air-conditioning repairs, water leak investigation, selector lever replacement, MOT preparation, servicing and suspension work.

The suspension has also received recent attention. In 2024, invoices show work to the front and rear lower control arms, suspension components, alignment, servicing, spark plugs and related maintenance. In 2025, the car also received new front brake pads and wear sensors.

In August 2025, the car was fitted with a new blue hood with a glass rear-window conversion by Top Job Convertible Hoods, at a cost of £1,595.  In September 2026, Reason Porsche replaced the Bank 1 Variocam unit along with associated seals, cam-cover bolts, plug-tube seals and sealing components.
