Description

Previous winner, Richard Jones, decided to take the cash alternative so our Austin Healey 3000 is back and you can have a second chance of winning it.

Originally built in Healey Blue and dispatched to North America in July 1963, our Austin Healey 3000 returned to the UK in 1988 and was registered as BGS 869A in 1990. It was subsequently converted to right-hand drive.

In 1994, it was purchased through specialists Murray Scott-Nelson and underwent an extensive restoration costing £18,950 at the time. The substantial history file contains invoices, correspondence, photographs, club records and period documentation showing this part of the car’s story.

The car has completed numerous European journeys including several RAC Euroclassic events. It has also received a number of desirable upgrades aimed at making the Big Healey an even more capable touring car.
These include a Denis Welch aluminium cylinder head, aluminium sump, side-exit exhaust, uprated suspension and cooling, brake servo, 72-spoke wire wheels, wooden steering wheel and five-speed gearbox.

Today it is finished in a blue and ivory two-tone colour scheme and is in stunning condition.
